Lyrics

DEATH DANCES

Sorrow in the sky,
Tear in every eye.
Death won't pass us by --
Not that kind of guy.

Black is the color
Of hope that's grown cold --
First dull, then duller;
First young, and then old.

None is the number
Of love that has died.
Long is the slumber
Of a heart denied.

Death dances in the darkness,
Making shadows of the light,
Within that eerie starkness
We have come to call the night.

Oh, dark death may not be proud,
But he sure is arrogant,
Boastful, and a bit too loud,
Returning from the hunt.

The mouth of a fool
Feeds on pure folly.
The meal tastes so cool,
Makes him feel jolly.

Sing of creation,
Songs of each nation's
Quick conversations
With Revelation.

Better kiss me now
Before the lights dim.
Don't know when or how
It'll all turn grim.

Death dances in the darkness,
Making shadows of the light,
Within that eerie starkness
We have come to call the night.

Oh, dark death may not be proud,
But he sure is arrogant,
Boastful, and a bit too loud,
Returning from the hunt.
