It all started when Adam 
Had a bite to eat with Eve. 
It wasn’t long before God 
Told them both they had to leave. 
They munched on forbidden fruit; 
Took maybe one or two chews 
Before they started singing

After the Red Sea parted, 
Soldiers and chariots came. 
When that Red Sea “de-parted,” 
Pharaoh’s army did the same. 
It started with the Egyptians 
Persecuting those Jews; 
Ended with Pharaoh singing 
Those “I Blew It Big Time Blues.” 
 
Old Mr. Dylan said, 
“People don’t do what they believe in; 
They just do what’s most convenient, 
And then they repent.” 
If what Mr. Dylan is bringing 
Is pure Gospel truth, 
Pretty soon we’ll all be singing

The Romans hunted believers; 
Made them “feed between the lions.” 
When givers turn receivers, 
It’s the Grim Reaper who dines. 
Hear that dinner bell ringing 
Waking Satan from his snooze. 
Hear Pontius Pilate singing

Well, Hitler tried his power play, 
Caused a furor with his blitzkrieg, 
Right up to his Judgment Day 
When he bunkered down with fatigue. 
When his chauffeur lit the fuse, 
The torch song he was singing 
Was the “I Blew It Big Time Blues.”
