UNBRIDALED LOVE 
 
It must be a trick of the eye, 
As I see them pass me by. 
She moves like midnight by his side, 
With a rhetoric of the flesh that cannot be denied. 
Her white skin whispers in the wind, 
Saying, “Forgive me, for I have sinned.” 
While her dark-cloaked companion just grins. 
Playing for keeps, he always wins. 
Then she sings,

They don’t see me, so I follow, 
As they head down to some sleepy hollow, 
Where her hot breath keeps the flame alive, 
And all her hothouse flower children thrive. 
Her voice calls out to the wind, 
Crying, “Forgive me, for I have sinned.” 
While her dark-cloaked companion just smiles, 
Showing teeth made sharp by chewing files. 
Then she sings, 
“Ooh, ooh, ooh, forgive me again. 
Ooh, ooh, ooh, forgive me again.”

But I no longer see that other guy, 
And before that dark-cloaked companion can return, 
I speak to her, my face clouded with concern. 
“Oh, sainted lady, stay here by my side, 
Acquainted with what I try to hide, 
Next to you, my stainless steel bride, 
All my sins are magnified.” 
My voice calls out into the wind, 
“Forgive me, for I have sinned.” 
A dark cloak in the shadows swiftly spins; 
I hear the strings of distant violins. 
Then I sing, 
“Ooh, ooh, ooh, forgive me again. 
Ooh, ooh, ooh, forgive me again.”
