From the recording ON THE BRINK
Lyrics
ON THE BRINK
I’ll see it when I believe it;
I’ll feel it when I conceive it;
Deal with it when I receive it;
All on my own terms.
There’s confusion all around;
Blood spilled upon the ground;
What’s lost can now be found;
Deep down with the worms.
At least that’s what I think
As I teeter on the brink.
When I look up in the sky,
I see a shooting star go by,
As I stop and wonder why
I feel so alone.
I have precious few days
To try and mend my ways,
But my dear wife still prays
For my heart of stone.
At least that’s what I think
As I teeter on the brink.
Where there’s smoke, there’s fire;
Where there’s hope, there’s desire;
But who am I trying to kid.
I’m not preaching to the choir;
I’m not reaching any higher;
Just drop me down and close the lid.
At least that’s what I think
As I teeter on the brink.
