I had a four-leaf clover
Stuck under my shoe
I planned to run right over

Then I saw a big black cat
By the light of a shooting star
I stepped on a sidewalk crack
Got hit by my mother’s car.

I followed my lifeline
To the rainbow’s end
Changed my zodiac sign
From Pisces to Virgo then
Saw a pin and picked it up,
Found a penny heads up
Crossed my fingers and crossed my eyes
Crossed my heart and hoped to die

I saw my initials in a spider’s web
Then six birds dive bombed my head
I’ve got bats in my belfry
Singing, “Olly, Olly, oxen free.”
I opened an umbrella indoors
And it broke thirteen mirrors.
When I walked under a ladder
Even my grammar got badder.

I saw seven dwarfs grow older
Chasing three blind mice
I threw salt over my shoulder
Just to add a little spice
I wove a circle ‘round them thrice
And feasted on honeydew
Danced my way into Paradise
And I pinky swear it’s true
