Skyrocketing gas prices,
Another Mideast crisis.
Life is full of surprises -
Self-destructive devices

Racial hatred without end;
Bigots up around the bend.
Every word’s meant to offend.
They get back just what they send.

“We’re not crazy!” we insisted.

Someone turned the screws too tight;
Since then, she hasn’t been right.
Can’t shake free of this stage fright;
Can’t escape the coming night.

Seems all she does is complain
About her bleak world of pain.
Too emotionally drained
To step outside and go insane.

Nuclear time bomb’s ticking;
Hate-filled world ripe for picking.
Cheap patches aren’t sticking;
Patients screaming and kicking.

We’ve come so far from the Garden;
Let our hearts and minds harden.
No amnesty, no pardon -
We’re too far from the Garden.
